Southern Missouri Shorthairs

We are a small family operation that specializies in AKC registered German Shorthair Pointers.  This is the only breed that we raise and we only have a few litters a year. This enables us to give the dogs as much attention as possible.  Our GSP are excellent companions and hunters.  These are calm,obedient, close working gundogs.  Our dogs have a high level of natural instincts and ability, demonstrate a high standard of style, stamina, and intelligence.  We only use sires and dams that we would want our family to have puppies from.  Immunizations and worming are always current for all of our dogs.

We believe in introducing our puppies to people early.  Our puppies are socialized at a young age with people and other dogs.

Grandson, Hunter, loves to play with the puppies as they become more independent.

Johnny was introduced to bird dogs, quail and pheasant hunting over 40 years ago by his best friend, the late Roy Rideout.  They had great times together and we were greatly blessed by the friendship of Roy and his late wife, Delsie Howell Rideout.
